Ok folks again not a trip with “Cis” but there are several folks who want to see the photos of our recent weekend in a B & B near Ludlow in Shropshire.( Including my own Daughter, Sorry Hollie ! ). This will be a very concise written blog with mostly photos. Hope my Ozzie cousins James & Hayley also enjoy them as they stayed here 4 years ago whilst living in the UK.
I have been mentioning to Jane for several years now about how I am sad to see Badgers as road kill on our journeys but have now reached 58 ( who would guess ? look too young don’t I ! ! ) but I have never seen a live one.
Jane & Hollie ( thank you both sooooo much ) bought me as a Christmas pressie a weekend in a beautiful Cottage in Hope Baggott near Ludlow in Shropshire ( lovely name eh ? )
We had a quick look around Ludlow including a nice meal before arriving at tea time at the cottage. We waited until about 8.00 and was shown the Badger wood up the field from our B & B after being introduced to the Cock & Hens, Ducks, and Sheep by the lady owner Elizabeth.
We sat in the wood in a couple of garden chairs and about 30 minutes later saw the first stirrings of the Badgers. About 15 minutes later they came out properly and we spent the next two hours ( In the gathering dark ! ) watching 4 of them come up the hill close to us. ( Please excuse the photos because it was very low light and therefore they are not the sharpest focus ! )
The next day we had a drive around Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury during the day and returned to Badger Watch once again that night where our new friends joined us once more.
I said it would be brief, I am posting this from a beautiful campsite amongst the Swiss alps in Engleberg just a few days into our grand tour of Italy ( amongst other countries ). Watch out for posts as and when I am able
